Sister Marguerite, Temporary Professed

Regina, Saskatchewan

The whole time I was in school, I was never able to figure out what I was supposed to do with my life. The idea of Religious Life had never even crossed my mind! After I graduated from high school, I went to Japan as an exchange student and providentially, all the families I stayed with lived fairly close to a Catholic Church making it possible for me to attend Mass. One night, while lying in my bed and pondering what I was going to do when I returned to Canada, the thought occurred to me of becoming a religious sister, which was a bit of a surprise to me but I just thought to myself "okay", and fell asleep. The thought of becoming a sister stayed with me all through the rest of my time in Japan, and after I returned home to Saskatchewan, it became even stronger. At times I would push it to the back of my mind but it was always there.
When I started university I got involved with Catholic Christian Outreach, and through that God blessed me with many strong Catholic friends and an opportunity to learn more about God and the Catholic Faith.
Not telling anyone about my thoughts, I began to look for a community on the Internet. When I found the website of the Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate, I was instantly attracted to them. I visited the site many times before I finally got in touch with them and arranged to go to Cambridge for a visit. My visit was everything I had hoped it would be, and so I applied, and thanks be to God, was accepted. So, here I am in religious life and I love it!! God has blessed me so much, and not a day goes by that I don't thank him for calling me here.
