"There must be a growing conviction that a fully human civilization shows respect and love for the elderly, so that despite their diminishing strength they feel a vital part of society."
Pope JohnPaul II-Letter to the Elderly
The social circumstances of the elderly in our society today calls us to turn our attention to their needs: their loneliness, economic insecurity and spiritual care. The Sisters strive to assist the elderly in their needs, trying to alleviate their fears by helping them to prepare for a happy death.

In August 1986, the first Marian Residence Retirement Home was opened to care for the physical, social, and spiritual needs of the elderly. In 1995 a new retirement home was constructed and a new wing was later added in 1999.

At our Mission Convent in Port Hood, Nova Scotia, the Sisters care for a smaller group seniors.
